MBA – Requirements & Admission
To be considered for admission to the MBA program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in any major from an accredited institution.
- Official transcripts from all universities, colleges and other post-secondary schools attended. In order to receive transfer credits from foreign institutions, you must have all post-secondary transcripts professionally evaluated. We recommend Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES).
- An indication of the capability to perform graduate course work based the following criteria:
- No GMAT is required of applicants who meeting any one of the following:
- those who earned an undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher,
- those who have already earned a post-graduate degree in another discipline,
- those who scored 142 or higher on the GRE, or
- those who have at least three years of professional work experience that demonstrates either advancement within a particular competency or management responsibilities for budgets, projects, or personnel.
- If the GMAT is required, the applicant must achieve a minimum score of 440 to earn regular admission status.
- No GMAT is required of applicants who meeting any one of the following:
- A demonstration of ability to communicate effectively in writing, evidenced by an essay in which the applicant communicates his/her motivation for pursuing the MBA.
- A meeting or phone interview with the Director or Assistant Director of Graduate Business Programs.
- Successful completion of an undergraduate course (or equivalent) in each of the following subjects:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
- Applicants who have not successfully completed the above courses will be required to do so prior to full admission to the program. The Director and Assistant Director of Graduate Business Programs will advise applicants as to the courses needed and the opportunity to complete them.
- Applicants classified as permanent residents of the United States holding a resident alien card must submit a completed copy (both sides) of the card with the completed application form.
- International applicants, or applicants whose first language is not English, must submit official scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam or the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE-A), unless the bachelor’s degree was earned in a residence at an accredited US institution of higher education. Scores of 550/80 for TOEFL or 53 for PTE-A are acceptable.
- Three months of statements from your parent or sponsor’s bank showing $23,350 – the cost of one year of studying at Benedictine College. Statements must be in English or English translation, list the account holder’s name, must have the name of the bank on them, and may not be more than three months old.
Provisional Admission for Benedictine Students
Students who are currently enrolled at Benedictine College and have successfully completed at least 96 credits may apply and be provisionally admitted to the program prior to their graduation, based upon a review of their academic progress to date. Such students may enroll in up to 9 credit hours of graduate courses prior to their graduation. With approval of the Director, graduate courses may also be substituted for undergraduate courses in a student’s undergraduate program. Students must complete the GMAT with a score that will permit admission to the MBA program as outlined above during the first semester of provisional admission in order to attain full admission to the program.
Admission Process
Applications are accepted continuously. Every effort is made to ensure that qualified students are admitted for classes in the term of their choice. To be considered for the program, please submit:
- Official copies of transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work
- A completed application form
- Official GMAT test scores
- TOEFL test scores (if required) – If the official documents are not in English, you must submit both the original and a certified English translation. Transcripts from U.S. schools must be mailed to Benedictine College directly from the school.
