McDonald Hall
McDonald Hall, lovingly named “The Suites” for their apartment style living, houses 160 women. Each suite has four double occupancy rooms, two bathrooms, and a main lounge. All suites are accessed through an outside balcony. Residents can also use the Schroll Center as a lounge. The Schroll Center contains a large common area, kitchen and computer area.
Resident Director: Mollie Rawls
Mollie was born in Colorado Springs and grew up in Martinsburg, WV. She and her husband, Jerel, graduated from Benedictine College in 2019. Some of their favorite memories from their time at BC was running for the T&F team. After graduating Mollie taught 4th grade at Atchison Elementary School from 2019-2024. She and Jerel have one son, JJ, and are very excited to give back to their alma mater.
Hall Features
- Appliances: Kitchen appliances in the Schroll Center include an oven, microwave, and full refrigerator.
- Bathrooms: Each suite has two full bathrooms. Generally, four people share one bathroom. Sinks with medicine cabinets are located in each bedroom.
- Furniture Supplied: Bedrooms: two twin beds/bunk beds, two desks/dressers, two large closets, two chairs. Lounge: one couch, one coffee table, one table
- Handicap Accessible: Bottom floor only. Room A-1 is completely handicap accessible.
- Laundry & Vending: Laundry facilities are available on the ground level, and they are free of cost to residents. Also, there are two vending machines, a television, and a gas grill available to McDonald Hall residents.
- Lofts: Lofts are not permitted in McDonald Hall.
- Lounges: The main lounge for the hall is the Schroll Center. It is a 24 hour visitation lounge. After midnight non-residents must be accompanied by a McDonald resident to gain access. Also, each suite has a lounge area for the women who live in that suite.
- Room Dimensions: Approximately 10′ x 18′
- Security: There are locks on each suite and room door. In addition, the gate at the west entrance is locked at 11 p.m. every evening.
