FAFSA Verification

Approximately 30% of all applicants for financial aid are chosen for a process called verification.  For students and parents who have been selected for verification, the Department of Education requires that Benedictine College collects the required documentation to verify the information you reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  We are required to collect a copy of the parents’ tax transcript and the student’s tax transcript and their W2 form(s). In addition to the tax returns, we also must collect the Verification Worksheet.  Dependent students will need to complete the Dependent Verification Worksheet. Independent students will need to complete the Independent Verification Worksheet. Please make sure that all submitted forms are signed by the required parties. Student financial aid awards will not be applied to the student’s account until all verification requirements are met.

The Verification forms are available here. You will need Adobe Acrobat to open and print the files. Please print the needed form and submit to BC by fax, e-mail, or mail. If you have any questions, please call or e-mail the Office of Financial Aid at the following:

Income Clarification

If the student and the parent are not required to file income taxes and have no W-2s indicating employment, this form must be completed to identify the sources and amounts of support being received for daily living expenses.
